59: The Artists (15 images)

This is an ongoing series of portraits of the artists working in the studios at 59 rue de Rivoli, Paris. The photos began in the fall of 2009, when 59 re-opened to the public. Having been a squat for 10 years, it is now owned by the city of Paris and run by a committee of artists, many of whom are the originators of the squat. Approximately 30 artists work in the building, which is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday 1-8pm.
